Proyecto Planeta Paz (Project Planet Peace) - ColombiaCountryColombia RegionGlobal, Latin America Programme SummaryProject Planeta Paz seeks to promote and consolidate popular and social sectors (Afrocolombians, environmentalists, peasants, civil organisations, communication, culture, indigenous peoples, youth, women, unions and solidarity groups), which have been traditionally excluded from political processes so they can participate more actively in building a political, dialogue-based solution of the Colombian conflict.
Communication StrategiesPlaneta Paz works with social leaders from eight regions of the country (Caribbean Coast, Pacific Coast, Antioquia, Coffee Region, Northeast, Cundiboyacense, Center y Oriamazonia). Its main strategy is to develop communication, dialogue and consensus-building skills of popular and social leaders as they negotiate peace building solutions with the State, the armed groups, civil society, and media. It is a training Project that includes research and communication components. Development IssuesSocial agenda; democracy; armed conflict; political negotiation and political development; human, economic, social, cultural and environmental rights; vindication of rights and resistance.
