Elizabeth O’Malley recently earned a Master’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from the School of International Service at American University in Washington DC. She conducted significant independent academic and field research on post-conflict community reconstruction in Northern Ireland, which culminated in a thesis containing actionable recommendations for improved community building. She also developed, organized, and co-led a 7-month social justice oriented educational program for 15 students to study peacebuilding and tolerance initiatives in Northern Ireland. In 2009, she conducted field research on the effects of free trade between the US and Colombia on the Colombian business community with Witness for Peace. In addition, she has studied social justice issues abroad in Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Brazil. She has interned with the American Cancer Society, the Chilean Ministry of Education, the American Planning Association, the Peacebuilding and Development Institute, and US Congress. She currently works with Change Management Solutions as a Research Associate conducting international economic analysis resulting in sustainable business strategies.
