Virginia Williams has over 15 years’ experience consulting in media production, strategic communications and public outreach for international development organizations and NGOs.
Her award-winning public outreach and social marketing campaigns have benefited organizations such as: Whitman Walker Clinic, Peace Corps, the Centers for Disease Control, and The Alliance to End Homelessness, among others.
Virginia’s motto “Where Media Meets Mission,” reflects her desire to work for causes close to her heart. Her social marketing campaigns on topics such as tobacco control, the environment, and gender-based violence have had measurable success with diverse audiences all over the world.
She’s an Emmy Award-winning television producer and filmmaker who has produced series and specials for PBS, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and other broadcasters.
Currently she is working with the International Rescue Committee leading a campaign to combat gender based violence in Gote d'Ivoire. She is also Acting Social Marketing and Public Initiatives Director for The Heroic Imagination Project, a research based organization designed to promote heroism in everyday life.
