Dr Eric Loo has worked as a financial journalist, features editor, production editor, and media educator in Malaysia and Australia. He currently writes a column for an online news agency, Malaysiakini. He was a columnist for The Edge Weekly, a business publication in Malaysia and a contributor to Inter Press Service in Bangkok. He has conducted numerous training workshops in media writing and production in Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Laos. Eric’s current research interests are in development journalism, best practices of journalism in Asia, online journalism in developing countries, and reporting about religion. He is founding editor of the refereed journal Asia Pacific Media Educator, and has co-edited books in international journalism and cross-cultural communication. His recent books are 'Best Practices of Journalism in Asia' (Konrad Adenauer Media Asia Program, Singapore') and 'Journalism in Good Faith: Issues and Practices in Religion Reporting' (Marshall Cavendish, KL, Malaysia). Eric currently lectures in journalism at the University of Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia.
