Lucia Montanaro is a Senior Advisor on peace, conflict and development. She holds a masters in International Law, an M-Phil in international political and security relations, and is a PhD candidate in political science. Lucia has been working for the UN in Mauritania as Peace and Development Advisor. Prior to this she worked as a Senior Advisor on EU affairs managing the Initiative for Peacebuilding for International Alert. She has also worked as a policy analyst in Central America, Central Asia and the Balkans and has worked for the European Parliament, the United Nations, Ministries of Justice, Defence and Foreign Affairs, NGOs, think tanks and press agencies. She specializes in the UN and the EU, fragile states, governance, statebuilding, conflict prevention, peacebuilding and early warning, organised crime and SSR.
