I have working in the field of HIV and AIDS for the last 7 years. I have worked in two international NGOs in Bangladeh and presently working in ICDDR,B in global fund project. I have worked specifically with migrant workers, sex workers, MSM and people living with HIV. I have also been invloved in HIV mainstreaming and have tried to address HIV in non-HIV programs. My present work is focusing on MSM and hijra(transgender) population and providing awareness, condom and STI treatment.
I am very much passionate about my work in this country where HIV is still low prevalent but having all the risk factors for a fucture epidemic. My main target along with all others in this field is to learn from others mistakes and prevent HIV in this country. I think Bangladesh can be taken an example to show the world that after 20 years of finding the first person with HIV virus we are still a low prevalent country. There should be more research in this country to find the cause of this low prevalence so that others can learn from us. I am totally committed in this cause and my journey will continue.
