I am a trained Malawian freelance journalist with ten years experience in news reporting and feature writing.
I am interested in human rights and development stories and would like to improve my writing through joining international competititions and development networks.
In the last ten years, I have written stories on a wide range of issues, including poverty alleviation, women political empowerment, HIV and Aids, education and development, which have been published locally in Malawi's top newspapers such as the Malawi News, Daily Times, Sunday Times, The Daily Nation and Nyasa Times online.
Last year, I won a Regional Hunger and Vulnerability Programme (RHVP) prize for a feature article I wrote on social cash transfers (see details on www.wahenga.net).
Apart from writing, I am involved in human rights work in my country, and am currently working for the Centre for Human Rights and Rehablitation (CHRR).
