I am a print journalist and media trainer.
After getting my start in journalism in Ethiopia in 2006, I was based in Tyre, Lebanon (2006-2008) as a regular contributor to Inter Press Service documenting the reconstruction, push to destroy cluster munitions, Palestinian and Iraqi refugees, and economic livelihoods in the south.
In Liberia (2008-2009) I covered for Inter Press Service the massive post war reconstruction effort, development, the UN peacekeeping mission, Rule of Law and traditional practices, commercial concessions and human rights stories.
In Lebanon, Liberia and Sri Lanka I've also been working as a media trainer in a post war context, and am now currently in Cambodia working on media development.
I am interested in finding the story behind the headlines of big post-conflict reconstruction efforts world-wide; what is being done, who stands to benefit, and giving voice to those on the margins of the debate.
