Mr. Kabukuru, is an award-winning international journalist, communications researcher, editor and media consultant whose specialty covers Geo-politics of natural resource sharing, diplomacy, conservation, pastoral commons, humanitarian affairs, conflict and technology, Current affairs, Health, Agriculture, Rural Dynamics, Horn of Africa Pastoralists and their survival mechanisms, Among Mr Kabukuru's latest assignments are editing the Minority Rights Group International/UNICEF “State of the World’s Minorities Report 2008” heading and coordinating a Ford Foundation funded Language Laboratory at the Model Centre for Deaf Education and Training (MoCeDET). Over the last 15 years Mr. Kabukuru has written extensively on energy, renewables, health and environment. His articles have been published in such publications as Mail & Guardian (South Africa), Inter Press Service (IPS), New African, BBC Focus on Africa, Daily Nation, Sunday Nation, The Standard, The People Daily, Regar, Seychelles Nation, the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC), Radio France International (RFI) and numerous websites. He is formerly the editor of Zwazo a bi-annual 32-page flagship publication of Nature Seychelles and website manager the www.natureseychelles.org Mr. Kabukuru is also an international speaker and has had his academic papers appear in several journals across the globe. He has also been a communications consultant for the US State Department, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Lusaka Agreement Task Force (LATF), East African Wildlife Society (EAWLS), Arid Lands Information Network (EA), Computer Aid International (CAI), Baobab Communications, International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), United Nations Economic Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), International Federation of Environmental Journalists (IFEJ), Kenya Organization for Environmental Education (KOEE), Africa Media and Malaria Research Network (AMMREN) and CTA among others. Mr. Kabukuru is highly skilled in new media technologies (ICT), analysis, research, interpreting events, forecasting, strategic thinking & planning and scenario building. He was instrumental in the establishment and formulation of the governance structures of the African Media and Malaria Research Network (AMMREN) headquartered in Accra, Ghana.
