Since 2004, I have worked as a consultant, researcher and lecturer on human rights protection with a specialty in property issues in crises and displacement. Before that, I worked for four years with the OSCE in Bosnia on property restitution for displaced persons. I am a US citizen and a lawyer by training. For the last five years, I’ve been based in Scandinavia – first on the Åland Islands (Finland), and more recently in Stockholm. In addition to my work, I also run a blog on "housing, land and property (HLP) rights in conflict management, disaster response, displacement, humanitarian assistance, early recovery and transitional justice settings." Its called TerraNullius and can be accessed at: http://terra0nullius.wordpress.com/.
