Medical graduate from Cambridge University, UK. Undertook Diploma in Community Eye Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine before pursuing a Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, U.S.. Subsequently joined the faculty within the Department of International Health where I am currently present.
Research expertise: Research to Policy - experience with quantitative and qualitative methodologies to measure the policy influence of academic institutions in LMIC. Also focus on policy impact of research consortia. Capacity building in training researchers, policymakers and intermediaries such as NGOs on best practices to utilize evidence in policy making efforts.
Injury Prevention - operational research and evaluation of programs aimed at preventing child injuries specifically within LMIC. Most research in this area has been undertaken in the South Asia region.
