I've been with the Livestock Development Group of the University of Reading since October 2008.
My research focusses on exploring how HPAI and the food crisis have affected the food security and livelihood situations of rural households in Egypt.
Other interests include: ethnoveterinary medicine, domestic animal diversity, gender in agriculture and animal production, anthropology, rural development.
I have about 10 years of work experience in the above subject in various countries including: Turkey, Mexico, Egypt, Cameroon, Mexico, Bangladesh, India, Wales, and Cambodia.
I have a passion for photography and have made a book called 'People and livestock' with pictures from 10 different countries taken over a period of 16 years during my work or vocational training with livestock keepers. Have a look if you want:
