I have been in Indian media for over 15 years as a newspaper columnist, magazine/ feature writer and now with the online media. I represent India's largest media house, the Hindustan Times and am a National Editor with their business paper (Mint- which has a WSJ partnership). Though i am with the online version (www.livemint.com) that has over 15 million page views and over 3 million unique visitors a month, i also write for print.
My areas of interest lie in development, reproductive health, gender and social justice. I especially like to write about issues that concern the common person at the grassroot level and highlight best practices, success stories using the media platform to advantage. The media in India plays a very strong role and has the power to draw political agenda, involve gatekeepers and stakeholders in active dialoguing that can eventually bring about behaviour change (at community level) and policy change (institutional level)
I have represented my paper at the Women's Edition that is a PRB-USAID funded project on reproductive health and actively participated in their seminars in washington, london, south africa and india.
