Name: Hesham Mostafa
Role: volunteer - ex. board member
I worked as NGOs Liaison Officer for Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) at UNDP. I have been actively involved in development work since 1994. Since then, working in the development field has become a part of my life. Being a volunteer then a professional partner in development, I have held different positions in local, international NGOs as well as United Nations organizations. I am a graduate of the faculty of Al Alsun/linguistics, Spanish department (1997). I am currently enrolled in the Masters program focusing on European Mediterranean studies tackling partnership between both regions from economic, political, social and cultural perspectives. My 10 years of professional work, between development organizations and private sector constitute my cumulative experience that consolidates my vision towards participating in development. I applied participatory rappid appraisal PRA in 2 governorates. I facilitated the process of establishment NGOs networks working on millennium development goals (MDG) in 6 governorates. Both activities and others including being a board member in youth NGO for 8 years are fostering my capacity of applying different development approaches including participatory approaches and human rights based approach (HRBA) in various levels of planning, monitoring and implementation. Participating in development reflects on self development. As I believe in my role as a link between development organizations and communities, I see my contribution in simplifying development concepts, digest them and transmit it to ordinary people. Building partnerships, capacity development, advocacy, planning and program design are the prerequisites for playing this role.
