Role: Graduate Co-ordinator for the Capacity Development and Extension (CDE) Programmme and Associate Professor
Currently Associate Professor in the Capacity Development & Extension program in the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development at the University of Guelph.
I teach courses such as communication for social and environmental change, interpersonal communication, research design and qualitative methods. Teaching that engages university students in the real world whether it be in their own local community, or half way across the globe.
Before joining the UoG, I worked in international research and development programs in Africa, North Africa and Latin America including the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) based in The Hague, and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) based in Ottawa and Nairobi, Kenya.
I conduct research on on topics such as agricultural innovation, and media, information and communication technologies that support rural community development. I have a longstanding interest in smallholder agriculture and environmental issues, especially those affecting women farmers.
