Mr. Jaime Mok assumed the regional position in January 2013. He was previously in charge of the Risk Management Program in Habitat for Humanity Nicaragua since 2011. He has participated in Disaster Response projects in Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia. He promoted community training projects with an emphasis in the strengthening of local committees and the population in subjects such as safe housing and the analysis of hazards, vulnerabilities and capacities.
Mr. Mok is from Peru and an architect specialized in non-conventional construction systems, he graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria in Lima and has a master’s degree in Social Management from the Universidad Pontificia Católica del Perú. He is a certified trainer in Sphere Minimum Standards for humanitarian response and a trainer for PASSA workshops (participative approach for the awareness in Safe Housing) in Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific for the last 5 years.
