Using music and comics, Community Media for Development (CMFD) Productions, together with music group Sigauque Project, are implementing the project Creative Arts for Youth HIV/AIDS Prevention - Music and Comics in Chamanculo in Maputo, Mozambique. Launched in January 2012, the objective of the project is to promote HIV/AIDS awareness among the youth, while changing attitudes towards protection and preventative methods.

- Grassroots Female Communicators Association (GRAFCA)

Launched in July 2011, the Grassroots Female Communicators Association (GRAFCA) works to build the capacity of village leaders in the Songea Rural District, Tanzania, to challenge discrimination and lead an anti-stigma campaign surrounding HIV/AIDS infection and treatment through educational and empowering workshops held in and around rural areas. GRAFCA is a non-profit organisation created by female journalists and communicators interested in and committed to the development of rural communities, and is supported by the World Association for Christian Communication (WACC).

- A Discussion Guide on Safe Male Circumcision for Facilitators in Uganda

This guide is designed to assist facilitators, teachers, and peer educators to lead discussion groups with young men and women, ages 14 – 24, about safe male circumcision (SMC). Published by Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Communication Programs (JHUCCP) and developed by the Health Communication Partnership (HCP) and Fast Track Productions, the written guide and DVD are meant to serve as a catalyst for promoting discussion about young people's actual concerns, issues, and challenges in their lives.

This 80-page manual, the eighth in the Called to Care Toolkit, is designed especially for use with young people aged 10 to 15. The manual takes a participatory approach to teaching and learning, using role plays, case studies, games, stories, quizzes, Bible study, and artwork to promote discussion and explore critical life skills for young people. It is designed to empower young people to take charge of their lives in a positive way. It also includes sessions for parents and guardians on their roles in guiding, supporting, and educating young people.

The Phuza Wize Drink Safe Live Safe campaign, launched by Soul City Health and Development Institute in March 2010, aims to create Safer Social Spaces (S3) and alcohol-free zones in order to reduce levels of violence and new HIV infections in South Africa. A primary target audience is young men aged 15 to 35 who research shows, are the group most affected by interpersonal violence. The community and its members are also a key target audience. The campaign uses mass media, social mobilisation, and advocacy to achieve its objectives.

Drama for Life Sex Actually Festival is a cross community HIV and AIDS arts education, activist, and therapeutic intervention. According to the organiser, Drama for Life (DFL), the Sex Actually Festival is the only arts festival of its kind on the African continent, addressing HIV/AIDS and its surrounding themes - sex, sexuality, relationships, culture, gender, human rights, and social issues. The festival brings communities from all parts of Johannesburg together to watch, discuss, and take part in performances designed to shift perception, stigma, and complacency.

Broadcasting from June 2010 through December 2011, Mieraf (New Beginning in Amharic) is a serial radio drama designed to promote the importance of health extension workers and encourage people to use their services, while also raising awareness of health issues, including maternal and child health, use of family planning, malaria prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention, and hygiene and sanitation. Produced by the Population Media Center, the drama airs twice weekly and is followed by discussion and interactions with health extension workers.
