Role: Senior Program Officer
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, and raised by a development communications specialist, my first experience in health communication was at the age of 6, creating a community engagement board game for young married adolescents. With a Bachelors degree in biology and a Masters in Public Health, I have spent the past few years working in behavior change communication on a variety of development issues ranging from health to conflict resolution and post-conflict reintegration, to climate change adaptation, modern day slavery, sustainable resource use and open access to information. For the past 7 years, I’ve worked for ARDA- The Development Communication Company, designing and manage development communication campaigns for social and behavioral change. I’ve worked in formats as diverse radio drama, print, video and film, jingles, and mobile applications for development and my work has reached millions of people in multiple languages across all Nigeria’s six geopolital zones. I’m currently most interested in tech innovations and digital media for development particularly areas like AR/VR4D as well as behavioural economics and lessons from commercial and profit-making industries that can be applied to social and behavior change communication. I’m also really interested in unconventional programming for women, youth and marginalized populations that amplify their voices and bridge the digital divide. When I’m not working, I’m an enthusiastic reader, writer, paleo baker, and football fan all of which interestingly enough, have fed into projects I’ve worked on.
