Revelaciones - Revelations

In this television drama on HIV stigma from Channel Thirteen and the the Huésped Foundation: Guillermo (Diego Peretti) is a lawyer who lives with the HIV virus and is unsure about how to tell his adolescent son Matías (Martín Peroyanksy). He works for the company where Florencia (Andrea Pietra) is the head of personnel. At this company, illegal HIV tests are done on employees. The conflict begins when Florencia is obliged to reject the daughter of a dear friend due to her positive test result. In addition, she now knows a diagnosis she is not allowed to disclose.

Through Guillermo's son, we will learn the story of Micaela (Mercedes Oviedo), a colleague in the department, who realises that her first boyfriend has HIV. Many other characters appear in this story that is marked by fear, a lack of information, prejudice, and the discrimination that exists around the issues. This is a story that shows that "in the end, we all live with HIV/AIDS."

This episode also has a lineup of actors including Guillermo Francella, Florencia Raggi, Martin Piroyanksy, Tomás Fonzi, Emme, Matías Martín, Mercedes Oviedo, and Paloma Contreras, among others. The show is directed by Jorge Nisco, and the script was written by Claudia Piñeiro and Cynthia Edul.
 
This presentation of Revelaciones represents the eighth consecutive year that Channel Thirteen has shown a special programme from the Huésped Foundation on International AIDS Day in order to deepen the reflection about prejudice and discrimination regarding HIV/AIDS.  A trailer of presentation number nine for 2010 is available here.
