The International HIV/AIDS Alliance (the Alliance) is a global alliance of 32 organisations led by community leaders, activists, programme managers, policy specialists, and civil society practitioners and advocates working to support community action on AIDS in developing countries. The vision is a world in which people do not die of AIDS. The Alliance aims to achieve this by building the capacity of local civil society groups (providing technical support, encouraging knowledge sharing, supporting fundraising & policy and advocacy work) in order to enable them to reach some of the communities most at risk of HIV with prevention, care and support services, and improved access to treatment. The international secretariat is based in the UK and US, and through the Stop AIDS Alliance, the Alliance has a policy presence in Brussels, Geneva and Washington, DC.
