Information on "A Training Workshop on Sexual Rights, HIV and Advocacy, for Young People by Young People" (Thursday July 22 2010, from 18:30-20:00, in Global Village Youth Pavilion Y) - will feature youth from Latin America and the Caribbean discussing HIV/AIDS issues, especially young people living with HIV. Requesting your response and ideas...

During this workshop, which will be facilitated by Mirellise Vazquez from the United States and Maria Antonieta Alcalde from Mexico, youth from Latin America and the Caribbean who are affiliated with the International Planned Parenthood Federation - Western Hemisphere Region (IPPF/WHR) will use the Mexico City Ministerial Declaration "Preventing through Education" and the document "Sexual Rights: an IPPF Declaration" to facilitate discussions on HIV/AIDS issues among youth populations, especially young people living with HIV (YPLHIV). They will address stigma around youth sexuality, sexual orientation/diversity, and access to comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, including HIV information, prevention methods, and voluntary counselling and testing (VCT). Each youth leader will then facilitate discussions with smaller groups, focusing on linkages between a sexual rights framework and HIV/AIDS.
