Facilitated by Sureyya E. Hornston from the United States, this workshop will provide information about social marketing as a tool and assist participants in developing the skills to use it. Participants will learn how they can apply the social marketing methodology to their projects in order to remind, change, or reinforce knowledge, attitudes, and/or behaviours about various actions (e.g., safe sex, adherence, health care seeking, advocacy). The workshop will also help participants "market" their programmes and initiatives to diverse audiences and mobilise them to take action on matters around HIV/AIDS. Finally, participants will learn to create support and motivation for individual or collective action.
