Facilitated by Tamil Rainanne Kendall from Canada, this session will examine the lessons learned and continuing challenges for achieving the commitments of the International Conference on Population and Development, the International Women's Conference, the Millennium Development Goals, and the United Nations General Assembly Special Session (UNGASS) Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS. Women leaders from Africa, Latin America, and Asia will address key issues, such as coercive abortion and sterilisation, access to contraceptives, testing and treatment for other sexually transmitted infections, stigma and discrimination, and good practices for advocacy and social mobilisation. Session participants will have an opportunity to engage in debate and discussion with the presenters.
