Information on "Palliative Care as a Human Right" (Wednesday July 21 2010, from 11:00-12:30, in Mini Room 5) - includes a focus on how to advocate for palliative care and HIV care integration. Requesting your response and ideas...

Facilitated by Liz Gwyther from South Africa, this session will work to build capacity of groups to conduct advocacy for palliative care as a key component of HIV care. The organisers of this session have developed a rights-based approach to palliative care that is centered on identifying specific legal obligations of governments. It allows people living with HIV (PLWH) and AIDS activists to advocate for specific changes required to ensure adequate availability of palliative care.
