Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria
Projekthope, a non-governmental organisation working to develop the capacity of media practitioners in Nigeria, is inviting journalists who cover, or are interested in, gender, gender-based violence, rape, sexual orientation, and gender identity to participate in a series of gender and sexuality reporting training seminars. This certificate programme combines formal education with in-the-field reportage to give reporters advanced skills in gender and sexuality reporting. "Selected applicants will receive modest transport allowance to and from training venue and will be able to bid for grants to pursue stories jointly pitched with our in-house media specialist, thanks to sponsorship from the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI)."
The four-part seminar series will be offered in Lagos and Abuja between December 20 2014 and January 24 2015.
Applicants should be able to show demonstrated interest and or experience in resolving and drawing critical policy and societal attention to social issues.
