The overall objective of this course, offered by MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation, is to enable participants to have a deeper understanding of the link between child rights and governance and to acquire skills and knowledge on how to hold their governments accountable in delivering services to children. According to MSTCDC, by the end of the course, participants will be able to conduct policy advocacy using a child rights based approach and monitor the performance of activities, projects, and interventions that aim at enhancing child rights governance.

The course content includes the following:

  • Understanding child rights and democratic governance
  • Key global, regional and national policies and instruments that mandate child protection
  • Designing and implementing a child rights governance programme
  • Key pillars of policy advocacy for child rights
  • Child rights based monitoring and evaluation.
