Facilitated by San Patten from Canada, this workshop aims to increase the knowledge base of new prevention technologies (NPTs) among workshop participants, improve their NPT-related communication skills, and increase their prevention research literacy. Designed for journalists and community-based organisations (CBOs)/non-governmental organisations (NGOs) interested in NPTs, the workshop will include critical analysis of past media coverage of NPT trials, including microbicides, vaccines, pre-exposure prophylaxis, and male circumcision.
