The overall objective of this course, offered by MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation, is to enable participants to access, collect, analyse and report research data/information for evidence based advocacy strategies. According to MSTCDC, by the end of the course, participants will appreciate and master the art of collecting empirical evidence and apply it for advocacy purposes. They will also acquire communication skills, good team spirit, and the ability to work with a diversity of people with a high degree of integrity, trust, and ethical principles.

The course content includes the following:

  • Key research concepts (Research objectives and research questions, problem identification, research methodologies, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, research data presentation techniques)
  • Principles and overcoming barriers to effective advocacy
  • Mapping for advocacy
  • Advocacy strategy development
  • Parameters for monitoring and assessing effectiveness of advocacy.
