Event Summary

Offered by the Learning Initiatives on Reforms for Network Economies (LIRNEaisa), this course addresses telecom issues in the context of Wi-Fi and WiMax where the distinctions between wired and wireless are being blurred. Classic price regulation is becoming less central to the missions of regulatory agencies and new market friendly mechanisms for extending connectivity are beginning to be implemented.

With telecom assuming a more prominent position in economies and societies, civil society and media have to equip themselves to participate in its governance. This course offers an opportunity to reflect on these issues in the company of peers while building knowledge to respond to new challenges.
