Resumen

Since 1991 Responding to Conflict (RTC) has worked to provide advice, cross-cultural training and longer-term support to people who are working for peace, development, rights and humanitarian assistance in societies which are affected or threatened by violent conflict. Working predominantly with international partners at all levels including grassroots, governmental and international, their aim is to help build the capacity of individuals and their organisations for conflict transformation work and peacebuilding in the areas where it is most needed.

Programmes

  1. Master of Conflict Transformation - The Applied Conflict Transformation Studies (ACTS) programme is a two-year part-time Masters (MA) course in Conflict Transformation which combines academic study with practical skill building and action research. During this programme, participants come together for 6 residential seminars. It is run by participating regional centres, and each learning group is recruited from within that region. The programme is designed for people actively working on critical social issues, including peacebuilding, conflict transformation, reconciliation, rights, development, the environment. Each course includes: practical study, advanced conflict intervention skills, theory building, analysis, strategy developmen, and action research.

    Responding to Conflict (RTC), a United Kingdom (UK)-based non-governmental organisation (NGO), in partnership with participating regional centres, currently offers the ACTS programme in the Balkans, Asia and East Africa.
