AI Communication Skills Training

Resumen

This PowerPoint presentation is one of three training documents designed to be used with the training manual Strengthening Training Outreach and Prevention for the ongoing Avian Influenza (STOP AI). The training documents, all PowerPoint presentations, include: AI Animal Health Training; AI Human Health Training; and AI Communication Skills Training, and are included on a CD which accompanies the STOP AI training manual.

This PowerPoint presentation intends to enable participants to apply innovative methods to communicate avian influenza (AI) information and messages to farmers and households at the commune level. The presentation details the rationale of avian flu communication, which includes:
  • To correctly understand the basic information of the AI epidemic and methods to prevent transmission between poultry and humans.
  • To gain a better understanding of the danger of the AI epidemic and provide active responses to stop and prevent transmission.
  • To adequately follow prevention methods in order to prevent disease transmission in poultry and humans.
  • To implement all safety measures to prevent poultry and humans from becoming infected with bird flu.
The training presentation outlines the basic principles of effective communication and behaviour change communication, and provides information on group facilitation skills and information on how to organise community events.
