Event summary

eLearning Africa is holding its fifth pan-African gathering to bring together experts and stakeholders engaged or interested in information and communication technology-based education, training, and development on the African continent. The conference seeks to encourage rigorous debate, discussion, networking, and knowledge-sharing among practitioners and policymakers from all over the world. The conference, which is held in English and French, includes plenary sessions, smaller presentations and special focus sessions, practical demonstrations and debates on specific topics, as well as various informal networking opportunities where practitioners share their experiences, ideas, new information, and perspectives.

The conference has four main streams:

  • A: Conceptual: these themes focus on the theoretical and conceptual models which guide practical work and experience with technologies and learning.
  • B: Sectoral: these themes focus mainly on developments in a specific sector - from education, health and security to agriculture, development and the corporate world.
  • C: Policy, planning, and design: these themes relate to policy at all levels, including the design and implementation of systems, policies, or processes related to learning with technologies.
  • D: Solutions and Technical Innovations: these themes draw on practical experiences with the implementation of technology solutions and with innovations.
