SoulSex - An Adult’s Guide to Building a Long-lasting and Happy Relationship with One Sexual Partner

Author

Soul City Institute for Health and Development Communication

Publication Date

October 1, 2009

Summary

The Soul Sex book has been produced as part of the Onelove campaign in South Africa. In research conducted on multiple and concurrent sexual partners across 10 countries in Southern Africa, it was found that one of the drivers of multiple partners is sexual dissatisfaction. Lots of people (both men and women) talked about not being sexually satisfied in their primary relationship and instead of talking with their partners they would have sex outside the relationship.

It was for this reason that the SoulSex book was developed. The book is about how to have good sex and how to communicate about sex within a loving relationship and in the context of a generalised HIV/AIDs epidemic. It is written in simple English (3 South African language translations will also be available) and has many pictures and illustrations. It has sections about what makes great relationships, understanding your body, understanding the joy of love-making, sex at different phases of one’s life as well as sex and healthy living. The book is also illustrated with pictures of characters from the 9th series of the television edudrama Soul City.
