Description

Founded in 1875, Westminster College is a private liberal arts college offering an array of more than 70 academic undergraduate and graduate programmes. It describes its educational approach as: active and engaged learning with real world experiences. It is a campus community adjacent to the Rocky Mountains and the city of Salt Lake. Westminster has 12 graduate programmes in a range of career fields from business to nursing and from education to communication and counselling.

Programmes

  1. Master of Arts in Community Leadership (MACL) - This programme prepares graduates in three areas:

    1. Management and leadership
    2. Community organising and advocacy
    3. Communications

    This programme is designed as preparation for a leadership role in settings such as:

    • Non-profit organisations
    • Advocacy groups
    • Community organising and outreach
    • Government public affairs and ethnic affairs programmes
    • Corporate foundations and philanthropy
    • Social service agencies
    • Public education, public health
    • Environmental organisations
    • Economic development
    • Arts organisations
    • Religious communities
    • Elected offices, community planning

    The MACL programme aims to help students strengthen and develop skills to be even more effective in working to help people meet their basic needs, to inform citizens on issues, and to involve people in decision-making through advocacy and organising.
