Access
Save the Children Fund estimate that about 33% of the population had been reached by the cassettes. The song on the First AIDS cassette was among the most requested songs to the radio station.
Knowledge Shifts
After the first cassette was produced and aired, a study on AIDS was conducted and it was found that 95% of the sample had heard of AIDS, and the principle source of information was the radio.
Practices
On the subject of Guinea Worm, the clinic reported a steady decrease in the number of cases after filtration techniques were described from 760 cases in 1993 to 104 in 1996, this decrease was attributed to both the cassettes and to the education efforts made by local health education workers. 50% more tapes were pirated than were sold, showing great popularity.
