Youth ages 9 to 25 are invited to submit short videos promoting harmony in diverse societies to the PLURAL+ Video Festival to be held at the Paley Center for Media in New York City, New York, United States (US), on December 18 2009. PLURAL+ is a video festival for youth-produced media aimed at building a more inclusive, tolerant society. The festival will address key issues in today's youth communities, such as migrant integration, inclusiveness, identity, diversity, human rights, and social cohesiveness. PLURAL+, a collaboration of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and other international partners, invites youth to submit short videos on their thoughts, experiences, opinions, questions, and suggestions on these key issues and how to promote harmonious yet diverse societies. An international jury will announce the winners at an awards ceremony at the festival on December 18 2009, International Migrants Day. The winners in 3 age categories will each receive US$1,000. Application InformationApplicants must meet the age requirement by September 30. Entrants may work together in groups, but the entry will be judged in the age category of the eldest youth. Each entry package must contain: A fully completed and signed entry form, including co-signature by a parent, guardian, teacher, or responsible adult if the entrant is a minor in his/her country of residence and a DVD of the video (all DVDs must have the name of the entrant(s) and the English title of the video printed on top of the DVD in permanent marker).
