Description
The National University of Tucumán (Spanish: Universidad Nacional de Tucumán) is the largest university in Argentina's North and Northwest sectors. It was founded on May 25 1914 in San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina. It has 13 faculties, 3 museums, and the following high schools: Gymnasium, Instituto Técnico (Technic Institute), Escuela de Bellas Artes (Fine Arts School), Escuela de Agricultura (School of Agriculture), Escuela y Liceo Vocacional Sarmiento (School and Vocational Liseum Sarmiento), Instituto Superior de Música (Music Superior Institute), and Instituto Técnico de Aguilares.
Programmes
- Communication for Development Post Graduate Degree - The National University of Tucumán offers a post-graduate degree in "Communication for Development". It is based upon United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) experience in Latin America, Africa, and Asia and will be offered to 30 graduate students from different countries. In this context, Communication for Development has been defined as the use of new information technologies to share knowledge with economically poor communities in a participatory way, in order to help the people to address such subjects as health prevention programmes, sustainable agricultural techniques, women's organisations, equal rights for ethnic minorities, etc.
