Metcalf Institute for Marine and Environmental Reporting, Rhode Island, United States (US), offers fellowships for early- to mid-career journalists to attend the week-long Annual Science Immersion Workshop. Focusing on global change in coastal ecosystems, Fellows will participate in fieldwork in and around Narragansett Bay and lab exercises at the University of Rhode Island’s Graduate School of Oceanography. The programme also features journalism sessions and lectures by leading scientists and policy makers on major environmental topics of the day. Each fellowship provides tuition and room and board.

Application Information

Workshop fellowships are available to journalists from all media with a demonstrated interest in reporting on science and the environment, and professional journalism experience. According to the Institute, there is limited space for non-US citizens.
