ACT NOW! Against AIDS

Country

South Africa

Deadline Date

Rolling deadline

ACT NOW! Against AIDS is a mutually beneficial fundraising framework for partnerships between the Arts and Culture Trust (ACT) of South Africa and the South African performing arts industry. ACT will consider requests for HIV/AIDS-related arts and culture projects for up to a maximum of R50,000. According to the organisers, the initiative is loosely based on the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS model in the United States which raises funds for AIDS in Africa at the opening performances of hit Broadway shows. The programme is designed to mobilise resources within the performing arts in South Africa to raise funds and conduct activities for HIV/AIDS-related arts and culture projects.

ACT is inviting requests for support from arts and culture projects which specifically support the fight against HIV/AIDS. Arts and culture projects run by new, emerging or established individual artists living with HIV/AIDS or arts and culture organisations working with people infected or affected by HIV/AIDS may apply for a once-off grant.
