Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Prize for HIV/AIDS Programmes

The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Prize for HIV/AIDS Programmes honours outstanding reporting on HIV/AIDS in the Asia-Pacific region by ABU members. The prize aims to recognise the efforts of broadcasters in creating programmes of a high standard that educate the public about HIV/AIDS, while at the same time help reduce the stigma facing those already living with the disease. The award recipient will win US$2,500 and will be flown to Bali, Indonesia, to attend the award ceremony on November 24 2008.



The deadline for application is September 15 2008.

Entry conditions:

  • All ABU members are eligible to enter the competition.
  • Entries must have been first broadcast after September 2007.
  • Content duration for entries submitted are in accordance to ABU Prizes For HIV/AIDS Programmes 2008 Contest Rules, Article 5. (See contest rules linked above.)
  • Programmes, which have won a prize in other international competitions, are eligible for entry.
  • Each entry shall be accompanied by one copy of its script in English.

  • Radio entries: Audio CDs
  • TV entries: DVDs Scripts
