Organised by the Coalition for Climate Change African Initiative, the Reality of Climate Change in Africa Conference will bring together political leaders and policy makers, commissioners of environment, activists, non-governmental organisations, academics, and anyone interested in climate change to share information and discuss strategies related to responding to climate change in Africa.
Topics to be explored include:
- impact of climate change in Africa;
- economics of climate change In Africa;
- role of African media in creating awareness of climate change;
- sustainable energies as vehicle for mitigating climate change; and
- role of the international community in addressing climate change in Africa.
As part of the conference, the Coalition will honour the Nigerian Minister for Environment, Housing, and Urban Planning, Halima Tayo-Alao, "for being an outstanding Minister and a Champion of Climate Change in Africa."
