Tshwane University of Technology’s Centre for the Study of AIDS in Pretoria, South Africa will host a two-day conference titled "Imagined Futures III 2008." The conference aims to bring together student leaders, peer educators, student volunteers, HIV and AIDS programme managers, researchers, and academics to discuss key focus areas within university HIV and AIDS programmes.

According to the organisers, themes to be addressed at the conference will include, but are not limited to:

• university support programmes for HIV positive students;
• knowledge creation on living with HIV on university campuses;
• antiretroviral treatment and adherence on campus;
• studying while having HIV positive family members, friends, and partners; and
• HIV stigma on campus.

Conference fees:

Before July 31: Students ZAR900 (US$120); Academics/researchers/practitioners ZAR1300 (US$170)

After July 31: Students ZAR1300 (US$170); Academics/researchers/practitioners ZAR1500 (US$200)

Fees include lunch on both conference days and dinner on the first day. They do not include accommodation.

Abstracts can be submitted on one of the above mentioned themes. Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words and should reach the organisers before or on July 31 2008. Abstracts must be submitted in MS-Word and must be emailed to johan.maritz@up.ac.za
