The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) will hold the 2008 Gender Symposium under the theme "Gender and Citizenship in the Age of Globalisation". The symposium aims to asses the theories of local and global citizenships, the impact of global processes on local struggles for engendering citizenship, as well as cultures of globalisation and their implications for the citizenship of women.
