UNICEF Youth Voice Film Competition

Region

Global

Deadline Date

May 28, 2008

Youth Voice has teamed up with MySpace and Olympus to launch a competition for 14-18 year-olds from the United Kingdom (UK) to make a short film about young people’s rights. Entrants can use anything to record the film, whether it’s a family camcorder or a mobile phone. Because not everyone has the equipment or the money, Youth Voice will be looking for a good idea rather than at the quality of the video itself. The film can be made in any style and any genre, including animation.

The winning video will be showcased on MySpace. In addition, the winner will receive an Olympus mju 850SW camera, and one runner-up will receive two free passes to the Showcomotion Young People’s Film Festival in Sheffield from June 26 to July 10.

All entries must be one minute long or less, and they must be submitted to MySpace by 5pm on Wednesday May 28 2008.

To enter the competition, entrants need to upload their film to their MySpace profile and make sure it is named ‘UNICEF film awards entry 08’. IMPORTANT: Only films with this title will be counted. Registered MySpace users will vote by rating all eligible films and once the finalists have been selected a judging panel will decide on the winning film.

The deadline for application is May 28 2008.
