Event summary

According to the organisers of this workshop, MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation, by the end of the course participants will have developed an understanding of the key principles of a rights-based approach to gender, obtained knowledge about the concepts of equality and gender mainstreaming, explored power relations and barriers to asserting rights by marginalised groups, and will have acquired skills in gender analysis and gender mainstreaming.

The course content includes:

  • basic concepts and key principles of gender mainstreaming;
  • basic concepts and principles of the rights based approach to development;
  • gender and policy analysis;
  • gender and human rights audits;
  • gender and human rights responsiveness in development organisations; and
  • "engendering” development processes and programmes.

Registration Information

This course is designed for coordinators and programme officers in development organisations, senior and middle level managers in development institutions, technical staff in local governments, and development agencies.

Fee: single room US$490; shared double US$ 415. The course fee includes registration, tuition, course materials, transport to and from Kilimanjaro International Airport / Arusha Town, excursions, and full boarding and lodging at MS-TCDC.
