Johannesburg, South Africa
This two-day conference on digital broadcasting and media partnerships aims to bring together African journalists to explore narrowing Africa's digital divide and to discuss, in light of new technological developments, partnerships between the different media industries: televison, radio, cellular, film industry, and digital broadcasting. The conference also seeks to highlight the need to improve and upgrade poor network coverage in Africa. It will explore how to make cell phones work in order to access news coverage from newspaper, radio or television using the power of technology, as well as how to maximise communication growth by deploying solutions to manage networks more cost effectively and to deliver more affordable services. The production of stronger content for the continent will also be discussed.
