The Guardian International Development Journalism Competition

Date:
May 6, 2008
Summarydesc:

The Guardian and the United Kingdom (UK) Department for International Development (DFID), in partnership with eight UK-based international non-governmental organisations (NGOs), invites new voices in journalism who are writing about issues facing the developing world today - issues that are often overlooked or under-represented by the media.

There are two strands of entry into this competition. One is for professional freelance journalists (people who have been published before - excluding student journalists - who are not employees of media organisations). The other is for anyone who is not a professional journalist, including amateurs and students.

The deadline for application is May 6 2008.
