GlobalHealthReporting.org

Summary

GlobalHealthReporting.org is one of seven websites offered by the Kaiser Family Foundation that provide access to current health information on local, national, and global health issues. Focused primarily for journalists, the media, policymakers and the health care community, these resources are free-of-charge and continuously updated. The website offers information and reporting resources, including:

  • The latest news on global health issues;
  • Resources, reference libraries, and the latest information and statistics on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria;
  • Reporting resources for journalists, including media contacts, tutorials and other educational, training, and grant opportunities for health reporters;
  • Country-focus pages with in-depth information and resources about the three diseases; and
  • A calendar listing upcoming events and trainings related to HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria and health journalism.

The sites include a rights-free film and video footage video section. This video library website provides journalists, television reporters, and filmmakers with AIDS-related rights-free video footage of Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, India, and Latin America free of charge. The video library contains a variety of video sequences including doctors treating patients, AIDS drug manufacturing, AIDS counselling sessions, HIV prevention and awareness classes, blood tests, and city and rural settings. The clip reels can be screened online and then ordered by journalists and filmmakers in a variety of formats.

Articles, press releases, websites, reports, or other information may be submitted to be considered for inclusion on GlobalHealthReporting.org by e-mail to GHR@kff.org, fax 202 266 5700, or phone 202 266 5952. Global health-related, rights-free videos may be contributed to the Kaiser Video Library by email to videolibrary@kff.org.
