Atlas Service Corps FellowshipCountryColombia, Ecuador, India, United States RegionLatin America, South Asia, North America Deadline DateApril 21 2008 (First round deadline - March 21 2008) Atlas Service Corps is seeking the rising citizen sector (non-profit or non-governmental [NGO]) leaders in Colombia, Ecuador, India, and the United States (US) to apply for a one-year overseas fellowship. Fellows from Colombia, Ecuador, and India will be placed at citizen sector organisations in Washington, DC, including Ashoka, CentroNia, Mobilize.org, Population Action International, and Youth Venture. Fellows from the US will be placed at host organisations in Bogota, Colombia, including Conexión Colombia and Colombianitos. All candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in the citizen sector, a bachelor's degree, be fluent in written and spoken English, and be committed to returning to their home country at the end of the programme. (Fellows going to Colombia must also be fluent in Spanish.) Atlas Corps covers all expenses, including travel to and from the host placement, a modest living stipend, medical insurance, and a US$2,500 end of service award. Candidates must finance and complete their visa process (reimbursed if accepted) and pay a US$500 deposit, refunded upon the candidate's return to their home country.
