The Conference, organised by the World Information Transfer (WIT), will be held on April 23rd and 24th, 2008, at the United Nations Headquarters, New York. The two themes for the conference are Chornobyl and Youth Action. The conference is co-sponsored by the Government of Ukraine.

In 1987, inspired by the Chornobyl nuclear tragedy, WIT was formed in recognition of the pressing need to provide accurate, actionable information about our deteriorating global environment and its effect on human health to opinion leaders and concerned citizens around the world.
